What is the lapip protocol?
Have you been diagnosed with failing dental implant placement? Are you experiencing symptoms such as pain that requires the attention of an experienced dental professional? Dr. Anu Mohan and her team at I-Rise Dental Boutique encourage you to book a consultation visit at her Del Mar, California area office to learn more about the treatment of implant infections and failure with laser-assisted implant treatment known as “LAPIP.”
What is LAPIP and its protocols?
LAPIP (Laser-Assisted Peri-Implant Procedures) is an innovative laser treatment protocol that helps restore dental implants that have experienced placement failure or infections such as peri-implantitis. This unique and advanced laser technology has been proven to be highly effective in eliminating bacteria and pathogens from the implant site, as well as aiding in restoring bone tissue loss associated with failing dental implants. In addition, LAPIP offers a much less invasive alternative to traditional oral surgeries, making it an excellent choice for patients seeking an effective and less painful solution.
What are the common symptoms and signs of moderate-to-advanced peri-implantitis?
• Pus excretion from around the dental implant
• Mild to severe pain and discomfort around the implant
• Implant exposure caused by gum recession
• Gum sensitivity
• Change in gum tissue color around the implant area
• Persistently bleeding gums
• Implant mobility (shifting)
• Swelling of the gum tissues around the implant
Am I a good candidate for LAPIP treatment?
At I-Rise Dental Boutique of Del Mar, California, Dr. Mohan will be able to assess your unique needs and explain the entire treatment procedure in detail so you can make an informed decision about which option is best for you.

From Self-Conscious to Confident - Smile Restoration with Dr. Mohan
Speaker 1: I don’t think this is me. I mean, was I that bad? That’s what I’m saying. It is like, it’s hard to imagine. That’s why I was feeling self-conscious when I was talking in front of a group.
Mentally, I was affected by this cosmetic change because in my profession I sometimes have to speak in front of groups. So it was a little hard for me. I was a little self-conscious at first. I never had had that experience before. So it was kind of a shift for me, and I just decided that that’s what happens in later life. I’m just going to have to accept it.
Speaker 2: He was at a point where he did not know what to do because he lost all his front teeth and he lost a bridge that he was mainly using to function and eat, and his main concern was just function. He didn’t care really how he looked, but he just wanted to eat.
Speaker 1: So I saw an ad on Facebook and it was for Dr. Mohan. I came and really liked her, and we just set up the program.
Speaker 2: I mean, the easiest thing would have been to yank out all his teeth, but financially he could not afford it at that time. Plus, he had a healthy set of teeth on his left side of his jaw.
So I told him, we have to take care of all the teeth, not just the ones that we are treating, to be able to fully bring back your oral health. Because if you just treat what we are treating, you’re still not going to have a healthy mouth.
So we extracted a few hopeless teeth, but at the same time, we gave him a few implants and then did some laser to regenerate his gum health and restore some of his sensation on the upper left side.
Now he really enjoys smiling, and every time he comes in, he thanks us for giving him his smile and function back at the same time.
Speaker 1: Words of gratitude for Dr. Mohan are really high. She’s an exceptional dentist, and even recently, there’s a little bit of recognition that, oh my gosh, I’m chewing on both sides of my mouth, and oh my gosh, I can eat nuts again.
So yeah, it’s a little fascinating to know that I don’t have to worry about the foods that I used to have to worry about. And I’m not just saying that to promote Dr. Mohan, I’m just revealing my personal experience with her.
Laser Dentistry That Restores, Not Removes - Save Your Natural Teeth
Just pulling out teeth or extracting teeth is not the only way to treat a person’s dentition. The patient’s own tooth is the best gift you can give to the patient.
It’s very easy to just pull out teeth, but many times you fall into that cookie cutter kind of a mentality where you say, okay, let’s just extract the tooth and then we’ll think about it later. But yanking them out is not always an answer. If you are able to give them the signs of regeneration paired with their own teeth, I think that is the best thing you can give to your patient. So when we have such technology available to us, why not use it? and It’s an investment into their health.
If I were treating my mom or my dad or my family, that is the first option I would consider before just pulling out teeth and replacing it with an implant, because that may not be the best option for them.
So if you or your loved one are suffering from receding gum line, or you have failing dentition, or if you have an implant that was put a few years ago but it’s always having problems in that area, if you want to see what other options are available to you, please give us a call and come in to see if laser assisted technology is a good fit for you.
